This painting inspired me to put my emotions into the abstract representation of faces.
While painting, I definitely grew up. Part of me had to detach myself from my father, who suffers from dementia.
I was able to forgive, to surrender to my feelings…

The result is “Daddy Cool.” A character who enjoys life, is cheeky and dares to laugh at his own mistakes.
